To all our valued patients,

We didn’t think we would be contacting you this quickly, but we have just received information from the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC), comprised of all state and territory Chief Health Officers and chaired by the Australian Chief Medical Officer.

Below is an excerpt from the advice provided but the AHPPC which will be published shortly and provided to the National Cabinet:

Dental Services

“AHPPC recommends adopting the Managing Covid-19 Guidelines” published by the ADA and implementing a triage system for dental practice. AHPPC recommends that all dental practices implement Level 3 restrictions as outlined in ADA’s guidance. That is, dentists should only perform dental treatments that do not generate aerosols, or where treatment generating aerosols is limited. All routine examinations and treatments should be deferred .This means the use of our high speed drills and scalers."

The government has set an expectation that measures introduced across the board may become more restrictive and continue for an extended period.

We will be available for emergency treatment on a limited basis. Please phone us and leave a message there will be directions on our message bank so please be sure to leave your name and contact number and we will be in touch as soon as we can.

We hope you all stay safe during this period.

Dr Gwendolin Flanagan and team.

Louise Receptionist

Hi I’m Louise I’ve been in the dental industry for 16 years. I mainly work on reception or behind the scenes, but sometimes you might see me in the surgery. I have been working part time with Gwen for 5 years and really enjoy my days with the team at Gwen dent. I fell into my dental career after filling a maternity leave position and loved it so much I stayed.

I have my first aid certificate and infection control.

When I’m not working I enjoy walking my two dogs and going to the beach.

I am married and have 3 children, 2 of whom have recently married looking forward to my ever increasing family who I love spending time with.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
