August saw me attend my second Conference since Covid 19 began. What a feeling it was to be back in the lecture theatre learning from the ‘Greats’ once more. Reconnecting with colleagues and suppliers at the Trade Exhibition in the breaks brought a feeling of comradery with my “dental contemporaries and friends” that had been lost for me these two years past.
AOS/ASP was a conference that combined the Australian Osseointergration Society with Australian Society of Periodontology. Under the banner of ‘Integrating Science into Everyday Practice’ these dental societies showcased local and international lectures specialising in Dental Implants, their placement and restoration and diagnosis and treatment of Periodontal Disease. The three days of lectures sent me home with information that was cutting edge as well as scientifically supported. Since then, I have been able to start sharing this information with my team and Hygiene Clinicians Shelly, Rachael, Gayathri and Danni. It was wonderful to be able to update skills and knowledge as well as to confer with colleagues on matters dental once more.
Being in Sydney for the conference also gave me the opportunity to finally connect in person with Chaz from Great Dental Websites. Over the Covid lockdowns I have been working closely with Chaz in updating and adding to our website. These blogs are a commitment that endeavour to continue with.
See you next time!
