It's been five years since I finished my Post Graduate Diploma in Dental Implantology with Charles Sturt University. The two years of study were wonderful, providing so much knowledge and experience. Since then, I have been able to attend lectures, congresses and study groups with the Australian Osseointegration Society (AOS) and the International Team for Implantology (ITI). I was so excited when a two day “What is new in Implants” course was offered for those who had graduated. I snapped up the chance and attended.
It was so nice to be back in the lecture theatre with colleagues from my class and other years, as well as reconnecting with our chief lecturers Dr Luke Villata and Dr Steven Stratis. Their knowledge and experience is second to none. The lectures and laboratory exercises added new concepts to my ‘Implant pallet’ and reinforced the foundational fundamentals that increase long term implant success. The great news as well is that there will be a Part Two later in the year. It is a great way to stay current and I am grateful to our lecturers for the preparation and effort they go to for us. I love having a career where you continually learn - it's truly a gift. I look forward to attending Part Two and keeping you posted!
